Trefoil Knot:
The trefoil knot is the simplest non-trivial knot and is also a triquetra and symbolises similar things. The trefoil knot is named after the trefoil plant and it was symbolic of the Vernal Equinox for the Druids, which is the first day of Spring.
There has over the years been some confusion between the trefoil plant and the three leaf clover (shamrock) and the two terms have been used somewhat interchangeably. If I were to guess then trefoil could be associated with good-luck as there is the saying “good things come in threes” and the Celts did live their lives by a threefold philosophy and the shamrock is a charm against evil in Celtic folklore.
I have thought Derek is 28. Totally confused about when the fire was because I think it was six years in the first season (however long Peter yelled about being in the coma). But Derek hasn’t seen Cora in nine years and only a year has passed in show time. I guess maybe he took off when he was eighteen and didn’t look back. I always had this thought that but for everything that Derek would be a wolf like Scott in the sense he just accepted what he was but didn’t need to be all pack oriented.
Derek actually said “not in years” not “nine years” so I think the fire was still 6 years ago. I have no idea how old Derek is though!
I do get a kick out of how teen wolf is making me refamilarize or familarize myself with my own heritage. I am curious if the stuff in the infinity jar will be the thing to make Derek and Scott and their Betas as stronger than the Alphas. Did we see what jar Deaton pulled the mistletoe out of?
Yeah I looked very closely it was from a jar with no symbol on it at all :( Also Deaton seems to have more jars than before there were three rows instead of two but no new symbols that I could see.

Oh yes that's right it was Ennis, now I can search for the spoiler! The internet shall not defeat me! Don't be to disappointed if it turns out to be nothing like my speculations but I really hope that the jar's make another appearance and we learn what some of the others do otherwise I will just be like ლ(ಠ益ಠლ) .

Check out page 10…I believe that //is// the symbol from the tree but yes the shield knot is basically the same idea. Have fun reading it’s a lot to get through >_>
